Introduction to minimising risk in heat treatment environments

2007
Abstract Ensuring the safe operation of heat treatment shops requires that risks and hazards are assessed; that adequate procedures and safety systems are put in place; and that those working in the shops take active responsibility for their own and others' well being. A practical survey of the risks inherent in industrial heat treatment operations is given and means of mitigating these risks and protecting the workforce are discussed, with reference to appropriate legislation and guidelines.
