Cairo ’98: Looking for success

Egypt is the perfect choice to host an international joint meeting of the EGS/SEG/EAGE societies, for many reasons. Present‐day Egypt is, of course, heir to one of the earliest and most advanced civilizations in the ancient world. Egypt is also a crossroads of the cultures of the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, and boasts of a long‐established and growing energy industry. Cairo’s location on the banks of the Nile River adds to the beauty and mystique of this dynamic city.
