Cherts and prehistory in the Near East… recent advances: An introduction

Abstract In 2007, when the edited volume Chert Availability and Prehistoric Exploitation in the Near East was published (Delage, 2007), chert research was still marginal to the study of prehistory in the Near East. However, over ten years later, numerous studies on Levantine chert have been published and research projects are still developing on different aspects of this theme. This volume is thus intended to offer an appropriate framework to document recent advances and new explorations in this field.
