Robust Decoupling Control of Web Tension and Velocity in Unwinding System

The coupling relationship between the web tension and velocity in unwinding system is an important factor which affects system dynamic performance, how to realize independently control between tension and velocity with time-varying radius is an inevitable task. The coupling model of the web tension and velocity is established in this paper, and the diagonal matrix decoupling compensator is designed to separate the coupling variables. To optimize the dynamic performance of the unwinding system decoupled, a hybrid sensitivity robust controller is applied to improve the disturbance rejection performance and stability under uncertainty. The simulation results show that the robust decoupling control strategy can effectively reduce the coupling degree of tension and velocity, and improve the robustness of the unwinding system.
