.Recent Progress in Electro- and Photo-Catalytic CO2 Reduction Using N-heterocyclic Carbene Transition Metal Complexes
2021
Abstract CO2 is the main gas causing the greenhouse effect. Electro-/photo-catalysts are important in CO2 reduction for sustainable utilization. Structurally diverse N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands are highly electronic and steric tunable. Transition metal complexes with N-heterocyclic carbene ligands have been recently emerging as potential catalysts for electro-/photo-catalytic CO2 reduction. This review focuses on recent structural development and performance evolution of NHC-TM complexes in electro-/photo-catalytic CO2 reduction.
