An on-line interactive Municipal Information System for the reporting and management of issues related to the operation of a Municipality and the service of its residents

This paper describes the technical details of the creation of an on-line municipal information system, the user's interface, and the functions  it offers for reporting and management of issues related to the operation of the Municipality and the service of the residents. These issues include local problems in the administrative area, such as potholes, illegal garbage deposition, broken street lights, broken tiles on pavement, damaged parks and illegal billboards. Moreover, as our country goes through a difficult economic period, the system permits the residents to report problems like lack of electricity or heating in a house, unemployment in a family etc. The  system has been developed using open source tools and gives the ability to the residents to report the problems, with the use of internet and contemporary technology means like smartphones.
