The synthesis of lipids from dietary glucose and palmitic acid
2007
Little is known about the contribution of dietary derived glucose and free fatty acids to the synthesis of lipids in humans. The present study therefore used orally administered [sup.13]C-labelled glucose and palmitic acid to determine whether these molecules contribute carbon atoms for the synthesis of cholesterol and triglycerides.
