Abstract 15761: Is QRS Waveform for Out-of-hospital Cardiac Arrest PEA Associated With Outcome?

2017
Introduction: In Japan, the all patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest received CPR are delivered to emergency hospitals and registered nation widely. Those data showed the neurological intact survival of pulseless electrical activity (PEA) with the prehospital return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) is approximately 10% and without ROSC is less than 1%, and has extremely poor outcome when compared with ventricular fibrillation. To predict the neurological intact survival in the out-of-hospital PEA, we analyze the relation between the QRS waveform of PEA and the outcome. Methods: This study is a retrospective observation study with out-of-hospital PEA in April 2012 - September 2016 which was transported to the emergency medical center. We examined consecutive PEA cases where the initial waveform recorded with AED by the emergency medical services. In the electrocardiogram waveform, the QRS width and RR interval were measured in AED recording. The primary outcome was ROSC with the survival admission...
