Dog domiciled to the margin of the highway BR 153, urban perimeter of Araguaina/TO, male, apathetic, with anorexia, intense paleness of mucous, fingernails lightly grown, presenting an old wound and opened in the height of the right elbow, it was interned in the hospital of the School of Veterinary of Araguaina I TO- UFT, with historical of weakness. Of the puncture aspirative of medulla bony they were observed the presence apprenticeships amastigot of the complex Leishmania donovani. Visceral Leishmaniasis has if spreaded out for great areas of Brazil, being evidenced an urbanization of this disease. Several factors already confirmed the paper of the dog as reservoir and risk factor in the transmission of the disease to the man.
