Polymer composite-bone which can be formed or configured and method for its production

2003
An osteoimplant composite for use in implantation in a point of a fabric, the osteoimplant composite comprising: a polymer selected from the group consisting of poly (caprolactone) starch, poly (caprolactone), poly (l-lactide) , poly (dl-lactide-co-glycolide), poly (l-lactide-co-dl-lactide), enantiomers thereof, copolymers of the foregoing, and mixtures thereof; and particles of bone origin, in which at least part of the particles of bone origin osteoimplant composite are elongated and have a ratio of average length to average thickness of at least 50: 1 to 500: 1 or more and a ratio of average length to average width of 10: 1 to 200: 1, wherein the osteoimplant of composite is formed immediately before implantation hand or using tools manually operated with a pre-determined form, after heating to a first predetermined condition, being greater than 40 ° C temperature, and consolidated in a second predetermined condition, wherein the osteoimplant composite is not suitable for forming at 37 ° C, and wherein the osteoimplant composite becomes suitable for forming when it is heated to the first pre-determined condition, being greater than 40 ° C.
