Identification of a shape isomeric band in 32S

Variations after angular momentum projection for a standard nucleon-nucleon interaction yield a rotational shape isomeric band in 32S. The 8.507, 9.065, 10.276 MeV levels of 32S are identified as the 0+, 2+, 4+ members of the shape isomeric band. Any other set of three known levels with at least approximate spin assignments can be ruled out.
