Newton's birthplace

1974
should like to support W K Hall and O E Klemperer (Physics Bulletin August p333) in their plea for more information about Newton's life and achievements to be given at his birthplace, Woolsthorpe Manor. When I first went there in 1947 there were no direction signs, and a request to a local youth for direction to his house only elicited 'Oh, yer want the poob!' (there is a pub called the Sir Isaac Newton.)
