Genetic Analysis and Utilization of the Important Agronomic Traits on Zhenshan 97×Minghui 63 Recombinant Inbred Lines (RIL) in Rice (Oryza sativa L.)

2002
Some important agronomic traits including plant height, heading time, yield of plant and yield components were investigated by using a set of 241 RIL population (F 9) derived from an elite hybrid cross of 'Zhenshan 97×Minghui 63' in variance analysis, correlation analysis, stepwise regression analysis and path analysis. The results showed that the tremendous transgressive segregation for all traits was observed in the population and the frequency of these traits was approximately normally distributed. All traits except panicle number between parents were significant differences. The correlations between filled grains per panicle, seed setting rate, 1000 grain weight, grains per panicle and grain weight per plant were significant, and these four traits contributed 88.7% of genetic variation of the grain weight per plant. The path coefficient and correlation coefficient between panicle number and grain weight per plant were opposite, but the path coefficient were more beneficial to explanation of their relation. Ten elite RILs Which yields were 10% more than Shangyou 63 were selected for using in rice breeding project or direct application in rice production.
