A system for measuring the directional room acoustical parameters

Abstract A new system has been developed for measuring the directional parameters of room acoustics. The lateral component ( LC ), front to back ratio ( FBR ) and left to right ratio ( LRR ) of directional room impulse responses are easy to measure with this system. The system was used to take measurements in a multi-purpose hall (for concerts, conventions and exhibitions). The directional parameters of early reflection were sensitive to room shape, wall materials and the positions of seats.
