Need for additional fatigue detail categories in Eurocode 3 and assessment procedure tools

In the recent past the orthotropic deck structures of Steel Bridges showed to be susceptible to traffic induced fatigue. The growing traffic causes the need for more accurate fatigue life asssessments for newly built structures and repairs of existing structures. The EC3 categories and assessment procedure tools shall be extended with details specifically used in the fatigue assessment of stiffener to deck connections in orthotropic bridges.
