Identification of the sex pheromone components in Pareuchaetes pseudoinsulata Rego Barres (Lepidoptera, Arctiidae)

1993
1, (3Z,6Z,9Z) heneicosatetraene has been identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (electron impact, chemical ionisation NH 3 ) and proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry as the main component of the sex pheromone secretion of the female Pareuchaetes pseudoinsulata. The sex pheromone also contains a blend of several other compounds already identified in pheromones of other Arctiid moths. The biological activity of the multicomponent pheromone blend is currently being studied in laboratory and field experiments
