[Continuing medical education in systemic treatment : Are the contents adequately conveyed?].

: Continuing medical education for systemic treatment has become an essential requirement for urologists to take part in treating oncology patients as part of the new oncology directive. Apart from this, urologists working in clinical facilities are more frequently being assessed according to how well they can document their professional qualifications for the entire field of uro-oncology, i.e., surgical and systemic therapy. The increasing interdisciplinary centralization of managing oncology patients in comprehensive cancer centers, oncology centers, and collaborative associations for urology necessitates a high level of specialization with regard to form and content. All urologists in Germany are called upon to confront this challenge, avail themselves of the opportunities for continuing education, and acquire the requisite accreditation.
