Superconducting machine (1), particularly for use as a generator in an island network, comprising, as components, a stator (5) and one against the stator (5) rotatable rotor (2), - wherein at least one component, in particular the rotor (2), at least one superconducting coil (3) is provided for generating at least two magnetic poles, which is cooled by a cooling device (4), and - on the respective other component, in particular the stator (5), are provided in the armature winding for each phase at least two parallel winding strands (6) in series or can be connected via at least one switching means (7) optionally in parallel.
