Safety element with subwavelength

2014
The invention relates to a security element for producing documents of value such as banknotes, checks or the like, comprising a dielectric substrate (1), embedded one in the substrate (1) first line grid structure (2) of a plurality of longitudinally extending a longitudinal direction and in a first plane (L1) arranged first grid webs (3) of high refractive material and into the substrate (1) embedded second line grid structure (6) along the longitudinal direction extending second grating bars (7) of high refractive material, based on the first level (L1) over the first line grid structure (2) in a parallel second plane (L2), wherein the first grid webs (3) and have each a first thickness (t1) and a first width (b) at a spacing (a) next to each other so that between the first grid webs (3) along the longitudinally extending first grid column (4) to the distance (a) of corresponding width are formed, the second line grid structure (6) to the first line grid structure (2) is inverted, wherein the second grid strips in plan view of the first level (L1) (7) each having a second thickness (t1) and on the first lattice columns (4) and second louvre column ( 8) (between the second grating bars 7) are made (via the first grid bars 3) lie, and the width of the first grating bars (3) and the second louvre column (8), the width of the second grating bars (7) and the first lattice column (4) is in each case less than 300 nm, wherein the security element produces a color effect in transmission and reflection and the first and second thicknesses (t1, t2) be at least 100 nm, preferably at least 150 nm.
