Multiple aerodynamic pressure admittance - concept and related experiments -

1992
Abstract The pressure fluctuations on the surface of a body immersed in a turbulent flow are produced by free stream turbulence and body-induced turbulence. A multiple pressure admittance is outlined based on linear system theory, which relates the pressure spectra to longitudinal and lateral velocity fluctuations and accounts for the induced component by a residual noise spectrum. For the example of a short circular cylinder in a simulated atmospheric boundary layer simultaneous velocity/pressure measurements have been performed. They reveal a complex three-dimensional correlation pattern and underscore the necessity and the benefit of an improved admittance model.
