Single Crystal Investigation of the Binary NdB4 Compound.

Abstract The crystal structure of the binary boride NdB 4 , ( P4/mbm space group, a =7.1775(3) A, c =4.0996(2) A, Z =2, V =211.20(1) A 3 , ρ =4.070 g×cm −3 , μ =12.70 mm −1 , R =0.0378, wR2 =0.0945 for 371 reflections with F o >4 σ ( F o )), was determined from single crystal X-ray diffraction (diffractometer Enraf-Nonius CAD-4, Mo Kα-radiation). The compound was found to crystallize with the ThB 4 structure type.
