The evaluation of rock stability for Huizhou Water Pumped-storage Power Station's high-pressure tunnel

2011
The Huizhou Water Pumped-storage Power Station has the largest hydrostatic head of 630m. Can the topographic and geologic conditions be able to withstand such a high internal water pressure? Or will any hydraulic fracturing or substantial leakage occur at the massif or adjoining rock? Can the high-pressure tunnel and the high-pressure bifurcated pipe adopt the reinforced concrete lining? From the perspective of the safe operation of high-head power station, this article gives the research and evaluation on the stability of the mountain massif and adjoining rock through the regional structural stability, the norm of the anti-uplift theory and experience together with the norm of the minimum principle stress, etc.
