Analysis of related factors influencing blood infection among 264 tumor patients receiving PICC and its countermeasures

Objective To Analyze the related factors influencing blood infection among 264 tumor patients receiving PICC and its countermeasures. MethodsA total of 264 tumor inpatients received chemotherapy, the data of whose who suffered from infections were analyzed. Results the infection rate was 14. 4% (38/264), blood infection accounted for 18.4% (7/38). Blood infection was correlated with medical personnel hygiene, personal hygiene, peripheral vascular and dwelling time of PICC, while uncorrelated with following items: patients constitution, gender, ward conditions, et al. Conclusions It is important to improve the quality of medical personnel, standardized operation, and strengthen health training, improve patient self-protection ability to prevent the blood infection of PICC.
