Sanidade vegetal na perspectiva da transição agroecológica

2019
Advances in the area of alternative pest and disease management have contributed significantly to agroecological farmers, to environmental health and to society, which is looking for healthy foods, free of toxic substances. In this sense, the present essay presents a theoretical revision about this agroecological perspective of pest management and plant diseases. For the elaboration of the essay, part of the theoretical revision of the thesis of the author was used and new bibliographical searches were conducted focusing on articles, books, theses and dissertations that bring an applied approach on the theme of plant health in agroecosystems. It was verified that Agroecology brings a systemic and integrated approach to the understanding of processes related to plant health, pointing out ways, practices, tools, methods and mechanisms of evaluation and control. Among the main strategies is the use of biodiversity as a tool to manage the sanity of production systems. We emphasize the importance of the redesign of agroecosystems, the implantation of agroforestry (intrinsic biodiversity) and the conservation of natural ecosystems (surrounding biodiversity) in this search process for the resilience and sanity of plants.
