Proximal Femoral Focal Deficiency

Congenital abnormalities of the femur with or without involvement of the hip joint are numerous and have been widely reported in the literature. Among them is a group of conditions involving primarily the subtrochantric area of the proximal femur. The rest of the femur and iliofemoral articulation are involved to a certain degree as well. These conditions have a rather distinct clinical and radiographic appearance.
