Analysis of Fluid Field in Doubly-Fed Hydro-Generator

2020
The fluid and temperature fields inside a large generator are closely related to the structure. The rotor channel steel with the characteristics of self-support fan is an important part of large generator. It is necessary to establish a model that considers the dynamic effects of rotor channel steel for further study. In this paper, a 6. 5MW doubly-fed hydro-generator is taken as an research object for studying. The finite volume method is used to analyze numerically the fluid velocity distribution and pressure distribution in the air duct. They can show the fluid rheological characteristics in the rotor part under the action of the rotor ventilation channel steels. The results show that the trend of the fluid velocity and the pressure distribution in each radial air duct approximately the same. The conclusion could provide a theoretical basis for the design and analysis of the doubly-fed hydro-generator.
