Calculation of Electron Beam Properties under the Presence of an Axially Varying Magnetostatic Field by Using the FDTD Code COCHLEA

The in-house FDTD code COCHLEA was upgraded to study the trajectory of a relativistic electron beam by developing a trajectory solver. To verify its results the electron beam properties were calculated for the test case of the motion of the beam in an axially varying magnetostatic field. For the case considered, the numerical results were compared to the analytical calculated ones presenting a very good agreement. This is an intermediate, albeit important step towards the upgrade of the code to study self-consistently the beam-wave interaction.
