Heat-responding element for sprinkler

1989
PURPOSE: To provides a heat-responding element for starting a fire-sprinkler of making possible to act with the reproductivity and dependability of fire-detection by composing of that the region of solder layer and another adjoining linking factor are alloyed with each other to enlarge the intensity of an alloyed metal more stronger than the original intensity of solder layer itself, and the opposed surface of a linking factor is made by a thin solder layer consisting of at least nickel, cobalt, chromium or iron, or the alloy of these metals. CONSTITUTION: A linking factor 14 of a heat-responding element 10 has a pair of recessed parts 20 to be received within an opening 22 of responding to the link factor 12. A solder layer 16 is partially alloyed together with each the surface of two sheet of plates for forming an interface alloy region to apply the surface of the solder layer with each plate. The preferable materials of the whole plate or only the surface of plate are nickel, cobalt, chromium and iron (or an alloy containing one or two kinds of these elements by higher contents such as more than 40%). A solder can contain more than one or two kinds among these elements. Because a boundary alloy between metals is stronger than a non-alloy portion, the element is broken within a solder layer but not the interface of metal/solder when a temperature reaches fusing temperature.
