MEP Approach to the Anderson-Hubbard Model

The discovery of superconductivity in heavy-fermion systems and in copper oxides has stimulated not only the experimental but also the theoretical work on the mechanism which induces the phenomena. The Anderson1 and Hubbard2 models are two of the most broadly used. In particular, the interplay of the Coulomb interaction and disorder is analyzed using the so-called Anderson-Hubbard model3 which consists of Anderson’s Hamiltonian for disordered media plus an on-site electron-electron interaction (U) term. Although a lot of work has been done on this Hamiltonian, the temporal evolutions of the involved operators are rarely analyzed.
