Nonunion is one of the most challenging orthopaedic complications. The aim of our work was to make a diagnosis, classification and type of treatment of nonunions. The most important classification divides nonunions into aseptic and septic. The technique selected for treating aseptic nonunion depends on viability and alignment of the fragment. Therapeutic intervention aims at improving the mechanical and biological environment at the nonunion area. Circular fixation can play an active role in this kind of diseases.
