Characterization of zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate lubricating oil additives by high-voltage zone electrophoresis

Abstract A method is described for the rapid qualitative characterization of zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate oil additives by high-voltage zone electrophoresis, on a silica gel substrate. Samples of lubricating oils and lubricating oil additive packages can be analysed directly, as solutions in light petroleum (b.p. 80–100°).
