POLYPLOIDY: A TOOL THAT PLANTS USE TO SURVIVE CLIMATE CHANGES

Polyploidy, the condition of possessing more than two complete genomes in a cell has played a prominent role in plant evolution. More than 75% of angiosperms are thought to be polyploids. Polyploidy have been reported to be more successful in extreme environments as compared to diploids. The present review is an attempt to give the brief account of role of polyploidy in climate change.
