A Consideration on the Description of the History of Own Country in U. S. School History Textbooks

This paper examined the description of the history of own country in U. S. school history textbooks. At first the conflicts over U. S. history textbooks was examined. It is pointed out through this examination that there were many conflicts through the history of American history textbook and that these conflicts were the fights toward national identity of the United States. In this meaning national identity is always on the developing process. Neverthlesss there was a master narrative in American school history textbooks. It was that U.
