Research on Performance Improvement of Power Simulation Software by Cloud Platform

With the rapid development of large-scale power grids with complex structures, the model scale and amount of data that power simulation software needs to deal with are increasing day by day. The power simulation software installed in a general configuration environment often has the disadvantages of long computing time and low efficiency when calculating and analyzing large-scale power grids. For some occasions with high requirements for real-time calculation, the real-time requirements are often not met with a general configuration environment. The development of cloud computing technology provides new opportunities for improving the computing efficiency of simulation software. In order to further explore whether cloud computing technology can realize real-time calculation of power simulation software, in this paper, power simulation software ATP-EMTP is combined with cloud platform, the advantages of cloud platform over traditional platform are analyzed, the simulation software is installed on the configured cloud server, the computing efficiency of the same simulation software in cloud platform and local computer is compared and analyzed with a specific large-scale power grid simulation example. Through the conclusions, the direction for the future research work is pointed out.
