Device for generative manufacture of a component

The invention relates to a device (10) for generative manufacturing a component (12). The device comprises two storage containers (14a, 14b) for receiving powdered material (16), two overflow container (22a, 22b) for receiving excess pulverulent material (16), wherein each overflow container (22a, 22b), a closing means (24a, 24b is assigned), which (between a closed state in which no powdery material (16) in the relevant overflow containers 22a, 22b) can be transported, and an open state in which powdered material (16) in the relevant overflow containers (22a, 22b) transportable is is switchable. Furthermore, the device (10) comprises a space (26), in which the component (12) layer by layer from the pulverulent material (16) is producible, and a means of transport (20), which from the reservoir (14a) via the first overflow tank (22a ) (for space 26a) and (the space 26) via the second overflow tank (22b) to the further reservoir (14b) and (from another reservoir 14b) (via the second overflow tank 22b) for installation space (26) and (the space 26) via the first overflow tank (22a) to the reservoir (14a) is movable. The invention further relates to a method for operating such a device (10).
