A cationic polymerization process

The present invention discloses a cationic polymerization process, the method comprising under cationic polymerization conditions, at least one diluent, at least one alkyl mono-olefin and at least one of the components ethylene and initiator system in contacting said initiator system comprising at least one compound capable of providing positive ions of carbon, at least one Lewis acid and at least one activator, the activator is selected from compounds of formula and of formula I-1 I-2 the compound shown below. When the mono-olefins in a solution state by cationic polymerization copolymerization, the method of the present invention can significantly improve the activity alkylstyrene copolymer, thereby improving the efficiency of the polymerization system, the polymerization to obtain a higher polymer yield.
