The invention discloses a rapid wavelet transformation and weighted image fusion single-image defogging method. The method is implemented through the steps of obtaining a foggy day image, evaluating dark primary colors of the foggy day image, and obtaining atmosphere light vector values according to the dark primary colors; evaluating the minimum value of RGB three channels of the original foggy day image to obtain a minimum component image, performing rapid wavelet transformation and median filter derivation on the minimum component image to obtain the transmittivity, and obtaining an initial defogging image according to the atmosphere light vector values and the transmittivity which are obtained through an atmospheric scattering model; subtracting scale factors corresponding to the gray average from the original foggy image and multiplying the difference by the corresponding value to perform simple contrast ratio enhancing; performing weighted image fusion on the obtained primary restoration image and the contrast ratio improved image to obtain a final defogged image. The defogging method has the advantages that the defogging speed of the single image is improved, and the foggy day image definition is enhanced.
