Neuropsychological rehabilitation of memory function in epilepsy

1991
Abstract During the last decade there has been a greatly expanded interest in the possibility of treatment for memory impairment. Specific behavioural training methods have been developed and various drugs have been used in attempts to improve memory functioning pharmacologically, even though the physiological and neurochemical bases of memory are still largely unknown. The purpose of this paper is to examine the merits of both approaches to the remediation of memory problems in the light of our own experience with the treatment of such problems in patients with epilepsy.
