This chapter will comprehensively address head and neck emergencies beginning with disorders of the ears, nose, and throat, detailing hearing loss, infections, abscesses, trauma including fractures, along with epistaxis, and its diagnosis and treatment. Upper airway edema and infections are discussed in detail as well as its diagnosis and treatment. Dental emergencies are detailed, including trauma and postsurgical emergencies. Finally, vertigo of both the central and peripheral origins is discussed. This chapter will additionally provide the learner with information regarding laboratory assessment if required as well as with information regarding imaging (if required) that is essential for passing examinations.
