Non-Cooperative Bistatic Sonar for Underwater Environmental Monitoring: a Model-based Approach

The paper addresses the problem of target identification in non-cooperative bistatic sonar systems and reports some preliminary simulative results obtained by applying a matched channel response target estimation algorithm. In particular, the paper describes the processing chain and reports a sensitivity analysis of the processing chain with respect to the length in time of the source chirp signal and to Doppler effects due to relative source-receiver motion.
