2019
Objective: the aim of this study was to perform a systematic review to verify the level of physical activity in adolescents. Material and methods: the standards established by the Preferred Reporting Items in Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyzes were used and quantitative studies with cross-sectional design were included. The search was performed in the electronic databases Pubmed, Medline, Lilacs. The intensity of physical activities was classified by Metabolic Equivalent (MET), which is classified in low intensity activities with less than 600 METs-min / week; moderate intensity between 600 and 3000 METs-min / week; activities of vigorous intensity above 3000 METs-min /week. Results: seventeen articles were selected, of which four met all inclusion criteria and were selected to proceed with the systematic review. Most of the articles presented at least 50% of the adolescents exerting a high level of physical activity, except in one article, where only 2% exerted this level of physical activity. Conclusion: it is concluded that adolescents shows good levels of physical activity, although this behavior needs to be greater, aiming to soften the effects caused by the sedentary lifestyle.
