Designing of UWB Monopole Antenna with Triple Band Notch Characteristics at WiMAX/C-Band/WLAN

In this paper, the design of ultra-wideband (UWB) monopole with triple band notch characteristics is obtained. The antenna has overall dimension of 28 × 30 mm2 which is compatible with wireless devices. The proposed antenna comprises of elliptical radiating patch with partial ground to enhance bandwidth which includes the UWB frequency range from 2.5 to 15.0 GHz. To obtain triple notch characteristics, two elliptical complementary split ring resonators (ECSRRs) and symmetrical slits are used. In this paper, an elliptical monopole UWB antenna is suggested with triple band-notched features for WiMAX-band (3.3–3.7 GHz), downlink C-band (3.8–4.2 GHz), and WLAN-band (5.2–5.8 GHz) using ECSRR slots and symmetrical slits on patch, respectively. The effects of each individual unit over band notch characteristics are also investigated. All simulation works have been done using electromagnetic software Ansoft High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS).
