The second National Family Health Survey (NFHS-2) conducted in 1998-99 provides information on fertility mortality family planning and important aspects of health nutrition and health care. The International Institute for Population Services (IIPS) coordinated the survey which collected information from a nationally representative sample of more than 90000 ever-married women aged 15-49 from 26 states of India.
