Secretion of vasointestinal peptide by a primary liver tumor with rhabdoid features

1993
A 5-year-old child presented with an unresectable liver neoplasm, the histology of which resembled a malignant rhabdoid tumor. Clinical course was unrelenting despite therapy, and the child died four months later. During the course of her illness, she developed watery diarrhea and was found to have a high serum level of vasointestinal peptide (VIP). This is the first report of a childhood tumor with rhabdoid features to secrete VIP. © 1993 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
