Outage Performance Analysis of Two-Way Full-Duplex DF Relaying Networks with Beamforming

2020
In this paper, we investigate the system outage performance of full-duplex (FD) two-way relay networks where all nodes are equipped with FD multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) capability and two sources exchange information via decode-and-forward (DF) relay protocol in two consecutive time slots. In order to completely separate the desired signal and interference, we consider a finite size of buffer at the relay. We propose zero-forcing based beamforming schemes for two different cases of the buffer-aided relay and non-buffer-aided relay. We derive exact closed-form expression and lower bound of the outage probability for those two-way relay system, respectively. Numerical results show that the proposed buffer-aided relay scheme significantly improves the system performance over the conventional scheme in terms of outage probability.
