Evidence against the prevailing view that the photolysis of methyl methacrylate/methyl vinyl ketone copolymers occurs predominantly by Norrish type II chain scission

NMR spectroscopic evidence is presented to show that the photolysis of methyl methacrylate/methyl vinyl ketone copolymers does not occur by an unusual form of Norrish type II scission as previously suggested but probably by a Norrish type I process
