Hechos estilizados de la sofisticación exportadora en Colombia

This paper studies the stylized facts of exports sophistication in 33 departments of Colombia (including Bogota D.C), using data from 2008 to 2016. The methodology used, was based on the contributions of Hausmann, Hwang and Rodrik (2006). The evidence suggests that departments with exports based on natural resources have higher levels of sophistication, however, the evidence also suggest the methodology is sensitive to the presences of oil in exports. This paper will seek to make a diagnosis of the evolution of the Colombian exporter structure, in order to understand its trade performance through the export sophistication.
