Studies on 6-[(dimethylamino)methylene]aminouracils: A facile one-pot synthesis of novel pyrido[2,3- d]pyrimidines

Novel pyrido[2,3-d]primidines 4 have been synthesised regioselectively by the reaction of 6-[(dimethylamino)-methylene]amino-1,3-dimethyl uracil 1 with various α,βunsaturated carbonyl compounds in high yields.
