Space Charge Distribution Analysis Before and after Drying of Micro-extruded LDPE/MgO Nanocomposites

2019
Nanocomposite properties are directly influence by the quality of the nanoparticles dispersion into the matrix. In the present case LDPE/MgO nanocomposite films have been investigated. Previous works showed that it is possible to get a reasonably good distribution of the nanoparticles into the bulk using laboratory scale compounding techniques. The ultimate goal is to propose a way to prepare such type of nanocomposite on the industrial level. Before reaching this step, it is relevant to characterize materials that have been prepared from different compounding techniques and with different processing parameters. In this work, LDPE/MgO have been prepared by micro-extrusion melt compounding. The electrical characterization was focused on the space charge properties that were investigated by the means of the Pulse Electro-Acoustic Method of the various samples. The effect of moisture absorption by treated and untreated nanocomposites on the space charge properties was investigated.
