Novel anti-anxiety drug compounds

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA)receptor agonists which interact more favorably with the α2 and/or α3 subunit than with the α1 subunit in order to minimize sedation effect while still maintaining effective anxiolytic activity.SOLUTION: The invention provides a naphthyridine derivative with a specific structure represented in the figure or a salt or the like thereof and compositions containing them, which may possess useful therapeutic activity in a range of central nervous system disorders, and in particular, anxiety disorders.SELECTED DRAWING: None
